"Gan; can đảm; mấu chốt": 「肝が据わる」 — gan dạ, bình tĩnh; 「肝を冷やす」 — hết hồn; 「肝に銘じる」 — khắc cốt ghi tâm; 「ここが肝だ」 — đây là điểm mấu chốt. Gan (cơ quan) trong y học dùng 肝臓.
