"Cây mơ Nhật (ume), hoa/quả mơ": 「梅の花」 — hoa mơ (nở cuối đông, trước hoa anh đào); 「梅干し」 — mơ muối; 「梅酒」 — rượu mơ; 「梅雨（つゆ）」 — mùa mưa. Không phải "hoa mai" vàng của Việt Nam dù Hán Việt là 'mai'.
