Cách dùng

"Trợ từ chủ đề" (đọc wa): 「私は学生です」 — tôi là sinh viên. Còn chỉ sự đối lập: 「肉は食べるが魚は食べない」. Nhầm lẫn kinh điển với が: は nêu chủ đề/thông tin cũ, が nhấn chủ ngữ/thông tin mới (「誰が来た?」).
